EASTPOINTE — Bellview Elementary School in Eastpointe is working to make reading fun with its annual literacy night during March is Reading Month.

Each year, the school invites families in for a themed party and dinner that is not only entertaining and enjoyable, but also educational.

“This year’s theme is a very magical family fun night,” said Sandra Young, the Bellview Elementary Literacy Program organizer. “Families can join a variety of magical-themed literacy programs. After dinner, there are several programs. There’s two escape rooms in which they have to find word clues and unscramble a message to escape the room. They’ll have to interpret sign language and Morse code, read things in mirrors, finding some key words in books.”
